Home battery

We live in a country with highly variable weather and relatively few sunny days a year. So are solar panels cost-effective for you? Definitely! Thanks to the combination with a home battery, you store solar energy to use at your convenience.

What are the benefits of a home battery?

1. Smart controls

Our advanced systems have smart controls so that your energy is always efficiently distributed between consumption and storage. So you don’t have to think about this yourself.

2. Optimal energy consumption

Thanks to a home battery, your family uses excess solar energy at times when energy demand is high or energy production is low. This way, you save significantly on your energy bill. Your own/direct consumption increases from 25% to 65% on average.

3. Smaller carbon footprint

By using a home battery as an energy storage system, you contribute to the transition to a more sustainable energy supply and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.

FlexiO box

The FlexiO box is an example of such a smart control. Using Artificial Intelligence (AI), your box learns what your habits are and thus when you need a lot of energy and also when you do not. The combination with a dynamic contract ensures optimal use of your home battery. The available capacity is used, for example, to recharge your battery with grid power when prices are negative.

A home battery likes room temperature, so not too cold or too hot. Batteries do have operating temperatures well beyond that. It is important to keep the battery out of direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to maximise life and efficiency.

A 10 kWh home battery may be enough to power an average household for one day, depending on consumption. Higher battery capacity may be needed for households with high energy consumption or for use during extended periods without sunlight.

When a battery is fully charged and energy is still being produced by your solar panels, the excess energy is injected into the grid. Consult your current energy supplier to find out what you can receive for feed-in to the grid.

The storage time of power in a home battery depends on the capacity of the battery and your energy consumption. On average, a home battery can store power for a few days to a week, depending on how intensively you use the stored energy. Your battery is naturally recharged by the sun every day. We therefore size your battery based on your average household consumption such as cooking, washing and urinating.

The profitability of a home battery is high in most cases. Everything depends on your own consumption profile. That is why we draw up a consumption profile or use the data from your digital counter to make a good simulation. The higher the purchase price of electricity and the lower the feed-in tariff or injection tariff, the more efficiency you can get from a home battery. Solled has been installing home batteries since 2021, so it can show you live that the efficiencies are indeed high for a home battery installation.
